Celebrating the 65th Birthday of the National Health Service

the 20th birthday of the Western Isles Hospital

Celebrating 65 years of the National Health Service!

The National Health Service is celebrating its 65th anniversary on 5th July 2013.

The anniversary is an opportunity to remember the achievements of the NHS as a whole and specifically those of NHS Western Isles, and its development over six and a half decades across Lewis, Harris, the Uists and Barra. It also gives us the opportunity to recognise the contribution of staff, professional organisations and volunteers who have made the service what it is today.

This is why we are keen to gather as many stories from patients and staff who have experienced or helped shape the NHS in the Western Isles - so please share your memories with us so they can be recorded, and looked back upon in years to come.
