Podiatry Home Visits

Attending a clinic will always be the preferred option for the provision of podiatry treatment, as it allows us to provide higher quality and standards of care, in a safer, more comfortable environment, for both the clinician and the patient, with access to other facilities if required. Home visits are carried out in the Western Isles “from the Butt to Barra” on a rotational basis and are available for those patients who are housebound or unable to attend due to severe mobility problems or chronic ill health, which affects mobility. It is important to note that due to the distances covered by NHS Western Isles podiatry services, patients eligible for a home visit may have delayed access to the service than they would if they were able to attend clinic.

To access this service please contact your Podiatry Department for a self referral form. On receipt of your referral the department will contact you for a telephone assessment. If you meet our criteria you will be placed on the waiting list.
