Patients, visitors and staff at Western Isles Hospital are being asked to cast their vote on the final 16 photographs which have been selected as part of the creation of a ‘view’ within Erisort Ward’s Day Room. The final images will be printed in large scale for the wall of the Day Room on Erisort Ward.
Patients who attended the ‘Ceilidh on the Ward’ events identified they missed the outside space described as the “long view from the croft”. Funding via DEEP (Dementia Engagement & Empowerment Project) was obtained to create a ‘view’ within Erisort Ward’s Day Room.
Alex Boyd, nationally well-renowned photographer, had previously taken a series of local photographs for consideration by ‘Ceilidh on the Ward’ patients.
These have now been shortlisted to 16 photographs and voting will decide on which photographs will be used.

The display is being held at the League of Friends display board area within Western Isles Hospital during this week only (10th-15th July).
The images all have a little label with a number on and comments about why the image was shortlisted as a favourite.
