Involving You

Patient Focus Public Involvement - Why involve patients and the public?

Patient focus means that NHS Western Isles believes involving patients and the public in the planning and delivery of services and in their own care delivers better outcomes. The process of public involvement is giving ordinary people the chance to work in public partnership within NHS Western Isles and to become involved in the decision making processes.

We want patients and carers to have more control of the decisions being made concerning their own health and we want the people in our communities to oversee the policy making process and ensure accountability in the system.

How can you become involved?

There are many ways in which you and your family can 'get involved' to help shape your local health services.
These include:

  » People's Health Network
  » Locality Planning Groups
  » CHD/Stroke Managed Clinical Network
  » Diabetes Managed Clinical Networks
  » Cleanliness Champion
  » Volunteering
