Chair of Western Isles Health Board John Angus MacKay commented on behalf of NHS Western Isles following the sad news of the death of Dr John A.J. Macleod, MBE of Lochmaddy, North Uist.

Mr MacKay stated: “The Board is saddened to hear of the death of Dr John. He was both a continuation of a history of service to the community in terms of his own family, and an iconic figure in his own right. He will be missed not only in the Uists but also in the wider health community in the Western Isles and beyond.”
