Public Consultations

Current Consultations:

The promotion of unhealthy food and drink is to be restricted as part of Scotland's new diet and obesity strategy. Public Health Minister Aileen Campbell has launched a consultation on ambitious plans to help people lose weight, including:

Ms Campbell said: "Obesity significantly increases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, cancer cardiovascular disease and depression. Simply put, it's harming the people of Scotland. It also puts pressure on the NHS, other public services and our economy." That is why we need commitment and action from everyone across all sectors and at all levels including government, citizens, the public sector and businesses right across the country. The consultation will run from 26 October to 31 January.

The Scottish Government is currently consulting on a National Autism Strategy subject and is seeking public views:

They wish to know your views on what action you think they should seek to take to make Scotland a better place for autistic people and their families. What do you think needs to be done, and by whom, to realise the outcomes and the strategy's vision for autistic people?

Your views are important as they will help to:

    • understand what is important to autistic people and their families
    • inform our actions for the next and final stage of the Scottish Strategy for Autism
    • identify whether there are other things we should consider in refreshing the strategy

The Consultation Period closes on the 29 November 2017
