Calling all Western Isles students returning home during the summer

NHS Western Isles is calling on any students aged 18 or over who are returning home during the summer to contact us for a COVID vaccination appointment.

Students who have not yet received their first dose of vaccine, or who are due their second dose (i.e. it has been eight or more weeks since their first dose) are urged to contact NHS Western Isles to book an appointment.

NHS Western Isles Chief Executive, Gordon Jamieson, said:  “It is very important that everyone eligible comes forward as quickly as possible and that everyone gets both doses of the vaccine to get the maximum protection against COVID19 that the vaccine provides.

“COVID can affect people of all ages: you can get seriously ill from COVID19 at any age and the virus can cause serious long-term effects regardless of age. Please take steps to protect yourself and get the vaccine.”

To book an appointment in the Western Isles, contact 0808 196 8383 or email wi.covidvax@nhs.scot (and leave your contact details).
