Masks at Vaccination Clinics
Published on 20 January 2021
To keep our patients and staff safe during our mass vaccination programme, NHS Western Isles is reminding all those attending for appointments that they will be required to wear a face mask when they attend their appointment, unless they are medically exempt.
From January 27, we will be requiring those attending appointments who are exempt from wearing a mask, to present an exemption card.
Those eligible for an exemption card can obtain the card by visiting www.exempt.scot or via the free helpline at 0800 121 6240.
The best available scientific evidence is that, when used correctly, face masks can provide some additional protection, especially in crowded and less well-ventilated spaces, and where 2 metre distancing is not possible.
NHS Western Isles is also reminding patients to attend their appointments on time – please do not arrive too early or too late.
A family member/carer may assist a patient to the main front door of Vaccination Clinics, but will not be granted entry unless support is required.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding as we implement every step we can to keep our communities and staff safe.
