Medical Wards Reopened to new admissions

Medical Ward 1 in Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway reopened to new admissions today following an outbreak of Norovirus.

Medical Ward 2 reopened on 7th February after a closure as a result of cases of Covid-19.

Visitors to the hospital continue to be requested not to visit inpatients if they are feeling unwell or have any symptoms of Norovirus or COVID-19. Please ensure you do not visit patients if you feel unwell or have experienced symptoms in the last 48 hours. A number of viruses continue to circulate in our communities and visitors are reminded to wash their hands before and after visiting hospital.
