NHS Western Isles launches local vaccination webpage
Published on 5 September 2022
NHS Western Isles has developed a new Vaccination Service section on its public-facing website (Our Services section) at www.wihb.scot.nhs.uk
A dedicated section specific to this winter’s flu and COVID vaccination campaign is heavily featured. This includes useful advice on how to prepare for your vaccination appointment (if eligible and when called), if you need to reschedule or require transport support to attend your appointment, are house-bound or have a medical issue and require a home appointment, as well as what to do if you have recently tested positive for COVID-19.
Vaccine information specific to pregnant women and those planning overseas travel is also detailed, as well as additional adult vaccine, including Pneumococcal, Shingles and Monkeypox. Advice for adults on what to do if a vaccine was missed during childhood also features.
Parents and carers of children are provided with a dedicated section on childhood vaccinations, as offered from babyhood through to young people aged between 11 to 24 years. This includes vaccine information relating to the 6-in-1, MenB, Rotavirus, MMR, HPV and Meningitis ACWY.
