Open invite to Parkinson’s Information event in Balivanich
Published on 20 May 2019
The opportunity for southern isles’ residents with Parkinson’s Disease, their friends, family, and carers, to chat to professionals is available with a Parkinson’s event to take place on Thursday, May 30th, at Balivanich Community Health Office.
Running from 4pm-7pm, the informal, drop-in session event is open to all affected by Parkinson’s and allows the chance to ask questions and seek advice from a number of different specialists and organisations.
NHS Western Isles Parkinson’s Specialist Nurse Angela Macleod will be present at the event, alongside Parkinson’s UK Area Development Manager Cathy Orr, who will also be looking at establishing a local Parkinson’s Cafe in the Uists.
Anne Ryan from Tighean Innse Gall (TIG) will be attending, as well as NHS Western Isles Occupational Therapist Val Dix; and all are available to answer any questions.
The event follows from a successful drop-in session held in Stornoway on World Parkinson’s Day, April 11th, which saw over 60 people attend the information event.
Open to all, come along and find out more about Parkinson’s and the support available for people with the condition in your areas.
