Professional advice on child development at informal Drop-in sessions in Barra

The chance to chat with professionals about your child’s development is on offer to parents and carers in Barra as the NHS Western Isles Allied Health Professional (AHP) team invite all to a free and informal Child Development Drop-In session.

The Child Development Drop In service has been established to improve access to professional advice/support and promote early intervention.

A Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and Physiotherapist will be available to parents and carers who wish to seek advice regarding their child’s development.

Parents and carers can come along even if they don’t have any specific questions, but through discussion about their child the professionals can provide helpful advice and tips.

Sessions have already taken place in Stornoway and Benbecula; and now the team would like to offer this service in Barra.

The team also plan to trial using video call facilities through the ‘attend anywhere’ facilities to improve access to all on the Western Isles. Please keep an eye out for specific advertisements for these.

The Child Development Drop-In session will be held on Wednesday 19th June from 2.15-3.15pm in the Barra Children’s centre.
