Public events to raise awareness of Lyme Disease

NHS Western Isles is co-ordinating two events in Uist to raise awareness about ticks and Lyme disease. The events will be an opportunity to find out about the current situation and the new research being undertaken by the University of Liverpool.

There will be a drop-in event, where people can come, have a cup of tea, find out about the research and ask questions. This event will take place at Stoneybridge Hall, South Uist, on Wednesday 7th May 2025 4-5pm as an informal drop-in session.

There will also be a public meeting in Stoneybridge Hall, South Uist on Wednesday 7th May, starting at 7pm. This event will have representatives from University of Liverpool and NHS Western Isles. Megan Linske and Scott Williams from the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station will also be in attendance. Megan and Scott have been involved in research projects into ticks and tick borne diseases in America for many years.
