Sun shines for first community vaccination clinic
Published on 4 October 2021
The sun shone in Point today (Monday 4th October) as the first community vaccination clinic offering separate Influenza and COVID-19 booster vaccinations, was held at Ionaid Stoodie in Garrabost.
With almost 100 over-65’s being invited to attend today, and another being held in Point tomorrow, staff are encouraging anyone who has been invited to attend their appointment.
Pictured are married couple Iain and Anne Ferguson from Portvoller, who were delighted to receive the double vaccinations at today's clinic.
Anne said, “We receive our flu vaccination every year and have already had our two COVID vaccinations. We didn’t experience any problems when we received our vaccinations and are thankful to the NHS for offering them to us. We would encourage anyone being offered the vaccinations to not hesitate in getting theirs.”
Further clinics are being organised across the Outer Hebrides this week, to be held at a number of community sites at Uig, Ness, Carloway, Tarbert, Balivanich and Castlebay. The full schedule can be viewed at: www.coronavirus.wi.nhs.scot (or view direct at https://bit.ly/3A8JbIb)
For those eligible for the flu or COVID booster vaccine, NHS Western Isles will invite you directly when it’s your turn.
