NHS Scotland recommends you get your vaccines as soon as they are offered to you.

Those eligible for the Winter 2025-26 COVID vaccine will be contacted by NHS Scotland via letter, email or text message, depending on their selected communication preference throughout the programme, which runs from September 2025, onwards.

You’re eligible for a COVID vaccine this winter if you are:

• resident in care homes for older adults
• all adults aged 75 years and over
• individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed (weakened immune system).

Please note that those living within the Western Isles that are house-bound or have medical issues which may prevent them from attending their appointment, should contact the local Vaccination Helpline on 01851 448 567 to book a home appointment.

It’s important to take up the vaccine every time you’re offered. Even if your health condition is well managed, you’re still at increased risk.
