NHS Western Isles raises awareness of Climate Emergency Fund opportunity
Published on 26 April 2024
NHS Western Isles is encouraging organisations, including community, cultural and education groups, to take the opportunity to bid for grant funding from the Scottish Government for projects that aim to build an understanding of the climate emergency across communities in Scotland.
The total value of the fund is £250,000, with individual bid amounts being accepted between £25,000 and £80,000. It should be used to engage people and deepen their understanding of the climate emergency and the action that society needs to take to reach net zero. Activities must be completed by 31 March 2025. Eligibility scope for activities is wide but are encouraged to be guided by the seven principles of engagement: Positive, Putting people first, Dialogue, Just, Inclusive, Evidence-based, Open and transparent.
The type of activity that can be funded is varied, but some examples include lectures, climate conversations, workshops, training events, exhibitions and art installations, youth programmes and covering staff costs linked to the project.
