Last chance to take your Spring COVID Vaccine

Heading 2

Last chance to take your Spring COVID Vaccine

Eligible Western Isles residents are being encouraged to take Spring COVID-19 booster to build up your immunity to COVID-19, which for some can be serious or even life-threatening.

The spring vaccine programme started in April for eligible groups, so those eligible should have received their appointment letters in the post. For those who are eligible and have not yet received the vaccine, you still have time to drop-in to one of our clinics across the Western Isles. You can access our current vaccination schedule at: https://www.wihb.scot.nhs.uk/vaccination-clinics/

NHS Scotland recommends you have a spring dose of the COVID-19 vaccine this year if you:

  • aged 75 years and over
  • in a care home for older adults
  • over the age of 6 months and have a weakened immune system

It’s important to keep up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines as your level of protection may have faded since your last dose. Getting the vaccine can help reduce your risk of getting severe symptoms, help you recover more quickly if you catch COVID-19, and help reduce your risk of complications or needing treatment in hospital.

If the appointment you received is not suitable, you have missed your appointment, and you would like to reschedule, or if you do not want the vaccine, we ask that you contact us to let us know as soon as possible so that the appointment slot is not wasted. You can contact us on 0808 196 8383 or email wi.vaccination@nhs.scot.
