New Pre-admission Clinic for Hip and Knee Replacement Patients

An exciting new pre-admission clinic is to be introduced at Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway for patients attending for total hip and knee replacements.

The new clinic will enable patients to be admitted to the hospital for their scheduled appointment on the day of their surgery, as opposed to a day earlier (the day prior to surgery).

At this time, the clinic is expected to take approximately 6-8 weeks to be fully established and patients who are currently awaiting these surgeries will be contacted directly by the Orthopaedic Secretary or Pre-admission Clinic Nurse to discuss their appointment. 

In the meantime, patients who have any concerns on being admitted on the day of their surgery can discuss these at their Outpatient or Pre-assessment Clinic appointments, or by contacting Senior Charge Nurse Frances Robertson, or Staff Nurse Nicola Libby, at the Western Isles Hospital Surgical Ward, tel.
