Published on 14 April 2025

Sandy (pictured left) from Uist has smoked for over six decades, His inspiration to quit smoking was simple. One day, on his way to a GP appointment, he found himself out of breath and had to sit on a wall just to recover.
Later, whilst sat in his GP surgery waiting for his appointment, he noticed a poster advertising the local ‘Quit Your Way Hebrides’ stop smoking/vaping service and made the decision to contact them, taking his first step to quitting smoking.
Sandy, said “I was a smoker for 62 years, and can proudly say that I’m now 34 weeks smoke-free.
