Caberfeidh Hotel saves Saturday’s vaccination clinic!

When Saturday’s COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic had to be moved at very short notice, staff at the Caberfeidh Hotel in Stornoway stepped in to provide an alternative venue!

As a result of the current COVID-19 outbreak in Western Isles Hospital, Stornoway, NHS Western Isles was unable to hold Saturday’s clinic in the Outpatients Department as planned.

The Caberfeidh Hotel staff didn’t hesitate in providing assistance and ensured that premises were available and ready for use. We are hugely grateful for their help and support!

Our excellent vaccination team, made up on Saturday of vaccinators and NHS welcome, security and flow staff, worked together to vaccinate 268 individuals at the weekend clinic. Another very successful day vaccinating!

NHS Western Isles Chief Executive, Gordon Jamieson, said: “The community spirit is incredible in the Western Isles and without the support of other agencies, organisations and groups, such as the Caberfeidh, the vaccination programme would not be making such excellent progress. We are hugely grateful to the whole multi-professional team at the Caberfeidh for stepping in to enable us to provide this clinic, and for indeed offering us the premises for future use. A kind and thoughtful delivery of cakes for the staff from No.9 coffee shop was quite literally the icing on the cake!”

Hotel Group Manager, Stuart Beaufoy, said: “We are happy to be able to help our local health board continue their tremendous work at this critical time.”
