Medical Ward 2 reopens following norovirus outbreak

Medical Ward 2 at the Western Isles Hospital has now reopened to admissions following an outbreak of Norovirus. Restrictions on visiting the ward have been lifted.

NHS Western Isles is reminding members of the public not to visit hospitals or care homes if they are experiencing symptoms of vomiting or diarrhoea, or if they have had symptoms within the previous 48 hours. This helps reduce the risk of infection spreading to vulnerable patients, residents and staff.

NHS Western Isles would like to thank patients, visitors and staff for their cooperation, patience and understanding during the temporary closure of the ward.
