NHS Western Isles’ Annual Review to be held next month

NHS Western Isles is encouraging our local communities to attend next month’s Annual Review, which will be led by the Minister for Social Care, Mental Health and Sport, Maree Todd.

The purpose of the NHS Western Isles Annual Review is to assess the Board’s performance for the period 2023/24.

Members of the public are invited to attend, either in person or join online via a Teams link. It will be held on Wednesday March 27 from 1pm – 2pm in the Vaccination Centre in Western Isles Hospital.

If you wish to attend, either in person or online, you have to book your place by emailing wi.annualreview@nhs.scot, providing your name, address, contact number and indicating if you wish to submit a question. Alternatively you can phone 01851 708044.

NHS Western Isles Board Chair, Gillian McCannon, said: “Each year, NHS Western Isles has its performance reviewed by the Scottish Government, in the format of an Annual Review. The Annual Review is an important opportunity for NHS Western Isles to discuss our achievements and challenges over the period 2023/24 as well as how we have delivered against the national healthcare targets, and any future plans.

“We always encourage members of the public to attend to hear about how their local health service is performing. There is an opportunity this year to either attend in-person or online, and anyone with an interest in local health services is very welcome to attend.”

If you are joining the meeting online and have a question you wish to put forward, please note that we can only answer questions that have been submitted in advance.

Those attending in person have the opportunity to ask their questions during the public meeting if time allows. Please note that it is not possible to respond to any questions relating to patient specific care or treatment or any individual member of staff.

All questions must be submitted by 06 March 2024.

All questions submitted in writing will obtain a written response by 25th of April.
