Visiting arrangements at Ospadal Uibhist agus Bharraigh

Hospital visiting restrictions have been implemented in Ospadal Uibhist agus Bharraigh (Uist and Barra Hospital) in Benbecula, as a small number of positive cases of COVID-19 have been linked to the hospital.  

Essential visiting is now in place until further notice. Essential visitors are those whose presence is important to a patient's care, wellbeing or support, including relatives of patients receiving end-of-life care, parents of children in hospital, and carers supporting vulnerable patients. 

A Problem Assessment Group (PAG) has been established to ensure all necessary measures are in place to prevent further spread within the ward.

NHS Western Isles is reminding members of the public not to visit hospitals or care homes if they feel unwell.
