Western Isles NHS Board seeks two new Non-Executive Members

Western Isles NHS Board is seeking to appoint two new Non-Executive Members and is inviting applications from people with an interest in public service and a commitment to supporting Scotland’s NHS.

NHS Western Isles is responsible for protecting and improving the health of its population and delivering frontline healthcare services across the Outer Hebrides. The Board plays a vital role in ensuring the provision of high-quality, person-centred care and improving the health and wellbeing of local communities.

If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the future of healthcare in the Western Isles, we would like to hear from you.

As a Non-Executive Member, you will play a key role in the effective, efficient and accountable governance of NHS Western Isles. Working alongside Executive and fellow Non-Executive Directors, you will help shape the organisation’s strategic direction and support the delivery of its objectives. Comprehensive induction, training and development support will be provided to help you make a meaningful contribution.

NHS Western Isles Chair, Gillian McCannon, said: “The diverse range of skills, perspectives and experiences that Non-Executive Directors bring to the Board is invaluable. Their contribution helps to shape and influence the healthcare services that NHS Western Isles provides for our communities.

“For one of these posts, we are particularly seeking someone with a strong understanding of the social, cultural and community landscape of the Western Isles. However, an appreciation of the variety of challenges in healthcare delivery in the Western Isles is an essential component of both posts. These are challenging, rewarding and worthwhile roles, requiring a commitment of around eight hours per week for an initial term of up to four years.

“In return, you will receive remuneration of £16,224 per annum, together with reimbursement of reasonable travel and subsistence expenses, dependent carer costs and the support needed to carry out your duties effectively.”
