No Smoking Perimeter

On 5 September 2022, it became an offence for anyone to smoke, or knowingly permit smoking, within 15 metres of a hospital building. This includes awnings, canopies or any other over hanging structure. Any closer and you can face a fixed penalty notice of £50 or a fine of up to £1,000 if taken to court. This is a new law introduced by the Scottish Government.

Now that it is an offence, anyone found to be smoking within the 15 metre perimeter will be asked to stop right away. Please do so and remain courteous towards those reminding you of the new no-smoking laws.
