This website provide an overview of the Neurology Specialist Nursing Service, and services delivered from across NHS Western Isles, with links to the Institute of Neurological Sciences, a purpose built neurosciences centre at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow.

It also provides some information on common neurological conditions, with links to local supports for patients and their families and recommended websites for further information and support.

NHS Western Isles delivers an overarching Neurology Specialist Nursing Service staffed by advanced clinical nurse practitioner, with access to leading specialists in Glasgow.

The service was developed to provide a safer, prompter, and more sustainable service for all people with neurological conditions in the Western Isles. Offering a greater continuity of service to patients with and Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Epilepsy, Neuropathies, Muscle Dystrophies, Myasthenia Gravis, Headaches, Ataxias, Myelitis, and Neurogenetic conditions, in conjunction with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
