Services: Stroke and Neurology

Occupational therapy in Stroke and Neurology provides assessment and treatment, information and consultation for the person and their carers following a stroke and/or other acquired neurological disease or injury. Therapy programmes aim to be centred around your needs and choices. The emphasis of treatment will be on maintaining skills and abilities, recovering or improving a person's independence. Assessment and therapy can take place in hospital, home, the community and the work place.

Areas of intervention include: activities of daily living, cognitive, sensory, perceptual and visual processing, moving and handling, specialist seating, neurological splinting, work capacity assessment, equipment and adaptations.
