TEAM/SERVICE DESCRIPTION |

Overview: | The Substance Misuse Service offers specialist advice and treatment towards recovery for those with dependence to alcohol or drugs. This is a nurse-led service (with input from Consultant Psychiatrists and Primary Care Doctors) for those who have dependence to alcohol or drugs (whether prescribed or otherwise) and would like to access treatment towards recovery. The service is available Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm and promotes healthy living and reduction from harm, working alongside other agencies to the benefit of individuals and families. Appointments can be held across NHS and GP sites and community settings. |
Target group: | This service is offered to those living and working within the Western Isles. Referrals to the service can be made via GPs (Lewis & Harris) and (Uists & Barra) An appointment will then be provided afterwards. |
Services offered: | We offer specialist advice towards recovery for those with an addiction to alcohol or drugs; this comprises:
Information support for those experiencing alcohol and drug misuse |
Location: | Appointments can be held within NHS Western Isles hospital and GP sites. |
Referral method: | Referrals to the service can be made by GPs or by individuals themselves by telephoning 01851 763305 (Lewis & Harris) or 01870 603279 (Uists & Barra) and leaving their contact details, name and date of birth on the answer phone. An appointment will then be provided afterwards. |
