Apomorphine Infusion Pump Training for West Team Community Nurses

Staff from West Team Community Nurses recently received hands-on training from Angela Macleod, NHS Western Isles Parkinson’s Disease Nurse Specialist, on the use of the Apomorphine Infusion Pump.

Apomorphine is a type of treatment used to manage the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.

The training session will enable the community nurses to deliver this service within the community, as well as enable them to provide training themselves on the use of the pump to additional community nursing colleagues.

The specialist training session was provided at Carloway Medical Practice to members of the West Team.
