Public Events – Lyme disease awareness raising

NHS Western Isles is co-ordinating three events in Uist about ticks and Lyme disease. The events will be an opportunity to find out about the current situation and the epidemiological research undertaken by the Universities of Glasgow and Liverpool.
There are two drop-in events, where people can come, have a cup of tea, find out about the research, and ask questions. These are at:
- Tuesday 8th November from 10am-2pm: Taigh Chearsabhagh, Lochmaddy, North Uist (informal drop-in session)
- Wednesday 9th November from 10am-2pm: Cnoc Soilleir, Daliburgh, South Uist (informal drop-in session)
There is also a Public Meeting in Balivanich Hall, Benbecula, on Wednesday 9th November, starting at 7pm. This event will have representatives in attendance from organisations including University of Glasgow, University of Liverpool and NHS Western Isles.
