Scottish Ambulance Service vaccination bus returns to Lewis this October

NHS Western Isles is pleased to announce the return of the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) Vaccination Bus to Lewis this October, providing convenient access to flu vaccinations for eligible members of the community.

The vaccination bus will visit three locations across Lewis, allowing those eligible for the flu vaccine to attend on a drop-in basis:

• Tuesday 6 October – Uig Community Centre, 10am to 3pm
• Wednesday 7 October – Kinloch Community Hub, Balallan, 10am to 3pm
• Thursday 8 October – Leurbost Free Church car park, 11am to 3pm

Flu hits hard, and for some, it hits harder. Last winter, nearly 5,000 people were admitted to hospital for flu among those aged 18 and over in Scotland. Getting vaccinated is the best way to help protect yourself and reduce the risk of catching and spreading flu this winter.

If you’re eligible for the flu vaccine you will receive a letter, email or text with appointment details or information on how to book one. If you are unable to make your appointment and would like to reschedule, please contact our vaccination team on 01851 448 567 or email wi.vaccination@nhs.scot.
