Restricted visiting introduced at hospitals in the Western Isles

As part of contingency planning and as a precautionary measure, NHS Western Isles has implemented restricted visiting at hospitals in the Western Isles.
- Visitors are restricted to one allocated visitor per patient
- Children should be restricted from visiting unless otherwise arranged with the nurse in charge.
The following general restriction applies for all visitors:
- Do not visit anyone in hospital if you have a fever/ respiratory / cough or cold symptoms.
- All visitors must hand sanitize when entering and leaving clinical areas.
Visiting is also being restricted to between 2.30pm and 3.30pm and 7pm – 8pm.
If patients have questions regarding visitation they should phone the ward for clarification. Exceptional cases can be discussed with the Senior Charge Nurse.
