Your views wanted: Coping with Loneliness, Isolation and Coronavirus
Published on 8 October 2020
NHS Western Isles is asking islanders to take part in an online survey to understand how people are coping during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The survey is part of a joint Northern Periphery & Arctic Programme (NPA) COVID-19 Response Group, who want to learn about the issues you face and how you are managing with social distancing and changes to everyday life.
You can offer invaluable insights into life before and during the COVID-19 pandemic, including key challenges you have faced and the coping strategies you have used. This information will help to understand how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted individuals, families, communities, policies and services at both a country and global level and will be key to informing society in the future.
The Re-Mind Project survey takes about 15 minutes to complete. You will be asked to provide the first answer that comes to mind and, if you wish, in another 4-6 week’s time you can complete the survey again.
This will help the Group to make comparisons across different timepoints in relation to the impact of COVID-19. The link to this survey can be found at: www.clic-survey.com and closes on 31st October 2020. Further information can be found at http://publichealth.ie/clic/

Background
NHS Western Isles has joined the NPA COVID-19 Response Group (www.interreg-npa.eu/covid-19/npa-covid-19-response-group) formed by the EU Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme during the pandemic to bring experts across NPA partners interested in collaborating and sharing work within their areas. To date there are over 100 experts from across NPA regions, Canada, USA and New Zealand and includes NHS Western Isles.
As part of this work the NPA introduced a short funded programme of projects across a number of key themes aimed at fostering cooperation across the region to effectively help address the multiple challenges posed by the crisis particularly in context of remote and rural regions.
