If you are already receiving care from one of the Integrated Front Door (IFD) teams, you will be given information about who/which service to contact if you need advice or should your condition change. 

If you are unwell and are not currently an IFD service patient, please use the usual NHS routes to access care, as listed below.

When to contact your GP

When you have an illness or injury that won’t go away, make an appointment to see your General Practitioner (GP). If your condition really can’t wait until your surgery re-opens or you need further advice, contact NHS 24 on 111.

When to visit the Emergency Department

A&E is for serious accidents or serious emergencies such as strokes, heart attacks or serious head injuries. If you think it is life threatening you can also call 999.

When to call 999

999 is only for serious illnesses or injuries. This may include a suspected stroke or heart attack or a serious injury or sudden, serious illness.
